Ayurveda originated more than 5,000 years ago . It is a traditional medical science of India. Ayurveda is considered to be an Upveda of Atharvaveda. Some more special things about Ayurveda: Ayurveda was founded by the schools of Hindu philosophical teachings called Vaisheshika and Nyaya. Charaka is considered the father of Ayurveda. He wrote a book named Charaka Samhita. The trinity of Ayurveda are Charaka, Sushruta, and Vagbhata. Sushruta is considered the father of surgery. The World Health Organization (WHO) has also accepted Ayurveda as a traditional medical system.
